3/28 Wings at Sharks Game Day Updates

The Red Wings take on the Sharks tonight in San Jose at 10:30 PM EST

Kyle Quincey doesn't need surgery on his broken cheek bone and may return to the lineup in a couple weeks. He's been cleared to resume off ice workouts, and is expected to join the team for practice and drills when they return from the West Coast.

Helm skated Tuesday, but only for about 15 minutes and Red Wings' Bill Roose said Helm didn't look like he would be playing any time soon.

Bertuzzi also skated briefly but it doesn't sound like he's making much (if any) progress.

Mikael Samuelsson said he may be ready to play as soon as Sunday, but Babcock sounds more cautious to return him to the lineup and wants to make sure not to rush him.

     Jimmy Howard is starting tonight.

Jordin Tootoo will return to the lineup and Patrick Eaves will be a healthy scratch.

This road trip has been productive for the Wings in terms of earning points, but also providing some rest, relaxation and team bonding. Sounds like moods may be a little lighter...

Looks like Pavel Datsyuk enjoyed his night off last night and took the opportunity to catch a movie with Damien Brunner. I love Datsyuk.
